StateFont is a shareware LaserWriter Font. It was created by Phil Russell, a freelance writer and the editor of Mouse Droppings, a widely read and well respected User Group Newsletter. Phil, and his wife Betty Russell, the original "Mac Widow," live in Waldport, Oregon with about 20 raccoons. They are both officers of CMUG, the Corvallis Macintosh User's Group.
StateFont was developed using Art Importer (Altsys). Included in this package are a Laserfont component which goes in your system folder, and a bit-map component which you should install in your system with DA/Font Mover, or with one of the excellent DA/Font extenders like Suitcase (Fifth Generation) or Master Juggler (Altsys). The bit-map includes two sizes, 24 pt. and 48 pt.
StateFont is shareware. You may use it for a month or two, and if you like it and decide to keep it, then you should send Phil a registration fee of $10. Or, alternatively, you can join CMUG. It will cost you $20, but you will receive a year's worth of Mouse Droppings, 12 issues, well worth the price.

Also included in this package are a Freeware DA, ASCII DA, by Jon Wind of Australia, which you can install and use to help you identify which key activates which state outline in the font character set, a Nisus document, and a SuperPaint document (pict) showing all the state outlines in the character set at 24 Pt. You can print out the Nisus Key Map after you have installed StateFont. Hope you enjoy it.
